DINING

Being huge foodies ourselves, we at Himalaica make sure that your Dining experience is memorable!

The surrounding forests, hills, nip in the air, sound of our estate streams and ambience make Dining a special experience indeed. This experience is accentuated by our caretaker Naveen and our Head Chef Prakash, who prepare home-cooked meals depending on the preference of guests using fresh organic ingredients.

Mostly Indian cuisine is served, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. A limited repertoire of international dishes from Continental and Chinese cuisine is available. Our chefs are masters of the local Kumaoni cuisine as well, which is a must try for all guests! Also served on request are delectable cakes and sweets.

As a guest at Himalaica, you can invite non-resident guests to enjoy the Dining experience of Himalaica with you at the same rates mentioned above. However, please do let us know a day in advance.

The accommodation prices include Morning Tea/ Coffee, Breakfast and a light Evening Snack. Further details about our meal plans are below:

All meals are serviced in the dining room next to the kitchen with a large dining table that can comfortably sit 10-12 persons at a time. Upon request and weather-permitting, the meals can be served alfresco in the gardens to enjoy splendid views of the forests or under a starry sky. The meal timings are strictly adhered to. We do not provide room service.

The larder, fridge and deep-freeze are well-equipped with a large variety of ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook items, both savoury and sweet, and amenable to being served on request. Soft beverages are also available on request.

Alcohol is not served and guests are advised to carry their own preference, as local markets offer limited choice.

We encourage guests to cook with assistance from Naveen/ Prakash – community cooking in the spacious kitchen, drinks in hand, with much chatter, is a popular evening activity! Most raw materials and ingredients, both fresh and packaged, including seasonings and condiments, are available in-house, as are some instant foods.

Cooking Classes from our head chef Prakash can also be arranged for guests who are interested in learning. Just let us know at the time of booking the stay.
